Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Photo walks: We had a very high number of people registered to participate in the photo walks. We were able to select only 30 participants for 3 photo walks. We exceeded our target by uploading 1,278 images as against the original target of 400 images. Upload sessions: We successfully organized 2 upload sessions to teach new participants to upload images for the contest. 11 people created new accounts at the workshop. Edit-a-thon challenge: A total of 9 people participated in the online edit-a-thon challenge to create 15 Dagbani Wikipedia articles, 6 Wikidata items and 11 Wikidata Lexemes.

  • What did not work so well?

Everything went well except that the duration of the edit-a-thon was shorter for the participants.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Next time we will increase the duration of the edit-a-thon contest to 2 weeks to allow more participation.
