Goals

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
We are pleased to have met our goals. We were able to engage existing Wikimedians and also recruit a few new ones. We gathered great images relevant to the campaign and this was a major highlight for us.

Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well? We have a working partnership with the Lamu Museum in Kenya and it was another successful venture. The students are always very keen to participate and our link to the museum always does a great job with coordination activities. We were also able to get more submissions than 2021.

We were also able to reimburse all participants in time, which is a lesson we learnt from our previous year.

  • What did not work so well?

Our social media insights and interactions were not as significant as we hoped, however, we have grown our follower base especially on Twitter and hope that this will work in our favor for the next competition.

  • What would you do differently next time?

We strive to get more out of county representatives who can help coordinate activities in their respective counties. We have already partnered with Lamu as mentioned above, and plan to expand into other counties.
