Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

In the second and last day of edit-a-thon, we have start on time, we didn't get any problems either from generator or projector. Our existence editor who are already aware about Wikidata they have edited well. We have recruited new editors. We've teach participants many things about Wikidata including lexicography.

  • What did not work so well?

I have hired a hall but only one day before the event, I got a phone call from the hall management. They told me that I can't use the hall on that day because of some reasons. But I've already announced to the participants that the event will take place at that hall and that date. I changed the hall on that day and announced some participants about it. This caused some participants not to attend the event on time. And that left us with generator and projector problems on the first day. That is why we did not start the event on time in the first day.

  • What would you do differently next time?

I found that many of our participants they have a lot of interest about Lexicography, next time I will plan to organise a project about Lexicography on Wikidata.
