Project Goal

I am one of the coordinators of the Wikimedians of Romania and Moldova User Group (WMROMD). In our plan for 2018 we have a commemorative project - „Centenar Romania”, dedicated to 100 years anniversary of the Romanian state. The project main goals are:

  • to add or improve a significant numbers of articles related to this very important event in the history of Romania
  • to alleviate the ”geographic gap” regarding distribution of the editors across the Romanian territory (there are no significant presence of the editors from this university center)
  • to raise awareness about Wikimedia projects and WMROMD projects

I am the coordinator of this project from the WMROMD side. After a series of preliminary discussions we have identified the University of Cluj as a possible partner for developing a common project. (Coordinator from the university professor Vlad Popovici - vlad.popovici[at]ubbcluj.ro)

In order to do so, we agree to have a preliminary meeting,at Cluj, for one day (between 16-25 April 2018).

Project Plan

  • Travel from Bucharest to Cluj, (domestic travel, Romania - 600 km), in late afternoon
  • Accommodate in Cluj for 1 night
  • Conduct the activities in the morning
  • Travel back to Bucharest in late afternoon

  1. Coordinating meeting with the representatives of University of Cluj
  2. Training workshops with the students which will be involved in the project

Impact

As a result of my participation, we expect to:

  • formal agree on further developing of the project
  • define the objectives and timeline of the projects
  • clarify the tasks and responsibilities of each side
  • raise awareness about Wikimedia projects, in general, and WMROMD projects, in special
  • conduct a 2 hours specific training with the students which will be involved in the project

  • I have accomodation in Cluj for free

What resources do you need? For your funding request, list bullet points for each expense and include a total amount.

  • Travel (round trip airfare from Bucharest to Cluj) = USD 120
  • Accommodation: 1 night = 0 USD (I can solve it on my own with no cost involved)
  • Meals and incidentals: 1,5 days = 80 USD

TOTAL = 200 USD (760 RON)
