Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  1. What worked well?

Well, talking about the whole competition period, almost everything’s work well as per we planned.

  • More than 5+ photo walks were organized inside Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kavre District.
  • Huge numbers of participation and contributions were achieved.
  • 4 images got Valued image flag and 20 images got Quality image flag.
  1. What did not work so well?
  • Quantitatively, somehow we achieved the target, qualitatively we're still struggling to achieve a better results.
  • Only less number of qualitative contents were been updated by contributors.
  1. What would you do differently next time?
  • Well, we’re still not able to cover all the monuments and places in remote parts of the country. We’ll plan a better solution to re-cover all these circumstances.

How to upload pictures in Wiki Loves Monuments

How did we let people know about the contest?

First of all, as per we promised in proposal, we avoid the use of paper promotion with the ultimate tagline of

1 ream of paper = 6% of a tree and 5.4kg CO2 in the atmosphere, 3 sheets of A4 Paper = 1 liter of water

To acquire couple of thousands pictures we can’t sacrifice hundreds of trees to waste. So, we started a new innovative phase to achieve our goals like .

  • Rigorous Emailing
  • Social Media
  • Tell- A friend
  • Central Notice across Wikimedia projects; to be directed to our site e.t.c
