Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

We started with a training session of volunteers and assigned them mentors on the project requirement. They collected data using google sheet on the available information and we started creating wikidata items for them. It was all round fun and amazing with the high spirit everyone invested to achieve the project goals.

We discovered and learnt new features about a lot of tools like the listeria bot, Wiki Shoot Me, Outreach dashboard and open Street Map. We created literia bots to help us track the activities.

  • What did not work so well?

Everything went well except that some of the information were oral from the natives instead of written documentation.

  • What would you do differently next time?

We would get some volunteers to travel to some of the places especially remote communities to take visuals or pictures
