Learning
editProjects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
Funds provided ensured the project was carried out effortlessly. Participants had a great time understanding the concept of open source knowledge and contributed towards the success of the campaign by collectively achieving our objectives.
- What did not work so well?
Some parks that were visited during the duration of the project were not accessible due to some bureaucratic bottlenecks with the administration, ownership status (some private parks refused to divulge information to be represented on free knowledge). Some parks prevented the use of digital cameras, high quality camera phones were used in such cases to take some shots with permission for that granted. Limited resources for citations also hindered the verification of some parks.
- What would you do differently next time?
Background information would be carried out for the locations before visit to forestall matters like these in subsequent projects. Extensive research to get citations for verification would continue to be carried out by participants and any other volunteer in providing references to these articles.
