Goals

edit

We are very pleased about how it went. our achieved targets was more than we think.

Outcome

edit

Please report on your original project targets.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
  • Recruit new editors about 50 students
We recruited 27 students from 13 schools in our country, who have enrolled in the new education program It was impossible to predict how many students would enroll, but we think this is a reasonable yield for this first program in our country, we made a small test to know who deserve to be in this program.
  • add photos for wikicommons, about 70 photo
We uploaded about 209 photos for wikicommons (flowers, famous places, nature .. etc) we don't select the number of photo to be uploaded, so the result was more than we think
  • Add or improve content, about 50 articls (one article per one person)
Add or improve content, about 71 articls in more than 16 field in wikipedia. we tell our student that every student must writes or improve 2 or 3 article to have an certificate, we surprised the some of student wrote more that 12 article and other 10, 9, 5, an so on!

Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

What worked well?

  • Ability to meet with students, to answer their questions and teach them the basics of writing and editing, writing a plan for the program and commitment, which facilitated the process of communication between students and editors in the Encyclopedia.
  • we made an groups on facebook to continue with students

What did not work so well?

  • The timing of the program in the last month of year probably had good and bad aspects, cause students have an finall exams and project in teir schools.

What would you do differently next time?

we planned to make another program, not just for student schools here, but for student in our universities. (To spread the idea of wiki education programs in our country)
