Project Plan
editActivities
editTell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. How many walks/tours will you organize and how many people on each walk?
- Seven members of the association will leave Port-au-Prince to participate in two days of photo hunts on April 3 and 4, 2021.
2. What kind of content will the walks focus on? Why is this topic a priority?
- These hunts will concern the tourist resources of the city. The latter enjoys great potential in terms of operational resources. This project intends to promote their discovery. Also the following elements will be photographed: the beaches and waterfalls of Jacmel; the artisanal production of Jacmel; the cultural spaces of Jacmel; the streets of Jacmel; colonial style houses
3. What is the plan to ensure images will be used on Wikimedia projects?
- Following each day of photographic hunting, a contributory evening to Wikimedia Commons will be organized. Throughout these evenings, the images will be processed and uploaded. Some will be used to illustrate wikipedia content.
4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
- The members who will take part in these photo hunts are already familiar with wikimedia Commons and have photography skills. In addition, Community Wikimedia User Group Haiti has a professional camera and a member has another that he will make available for this project (T6 and T7, cannon). A third camera will make us even more effective in this work
5. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- This project is the very first of its kind in Haiti. It will support the participation of individuals in the appropriation and affirmation of their culture on the Web, in order to express their identity, to make their local resources known more widely. More generally, the aim is to mobilize the capacity for collective action through digital technologies and to promote the values of sharing, co-creation and collaborative initiatives.
6. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
- This project will only bring together 7 people
