Extension request

edit

New end date: July 31, 2019

edit

It is anticipated the project will be completed by July 31st, 2019.

Rationale

edit

We have a budget surplus and would like to use the surplus to build on areas we feel were successful. The two activities:

  • GLAM Summit intended to engage professionals in engaging the Wikimedia projects within their professional work and within organizations. There are strategic opportunities with several organizations on the cusp of more programmatic use of Wikimedia. The organizers would like to bring Effie Kapsalis of the Smithsonian to speak.
  • Music edit-a-thons. Several participants have expressed a desire to have another round of editing events and we would like to hold a small number of events at two institutions and at the CAML annual conference to keep momentum and visibility.
