Grants:Project/TakeDownCrawler
Project idea
editWhat is the problem you're trying to solve?
editExplain the problem that you are trying to solve with this project. What is the issue you want to address? Be brief, you can update and add to this later. When victims of harassment realize that somebody took inappropriate footage or pictures of them and posted it on the www, there's no way (as far as I know) for those people to know how many sites are posting it, to what extent the posting has perhaps even gone viral. I'd like to build a tool that helps victims gain some peace by knowing where and how may places those assets are posted and be given an opportunity to request take down to those sites.
What is your solution?
editBriefly explain how you will address this problem. I want to program a crawler that is intelligent enough to find the web addresses of all the sites that are posting the offending material.
Project goals
editWhat are the primary goal of your project? Please briefly explain what are you trying to accomplish with this project, or what do you expect will change as a result of this grant To help victims of harassment gain peace by knowing where all the postings of offending materials are located and help write a script to request take down to each of those sites.
Project plan
editActivities
