Outcome
edit- Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
- I was able to share the most important pieces of the Wikimania Conference live in Spanish, using my Twitter account. The most important pieces were about Wikimedia awareness in the so-called Global South, the value of local content creation and the experience of the Sinenjongo High School. In total, the content shared had 487 engagements and 8,747 impressions.
- Also, as a member of the Board of Wikimedia Chile, I was able to share our experience, the agreements we reached with other members of the movement, inside our Board meetings and I'm hopeful to share more in our next Iberoconf meeting in February 2019.
Connections
editIn the conference, I was able to meet and engage some members of the Arabic Wikipedia community, so we were able to discuss ways to improve the contest Bridges across Cultures. Also, we had the opportunity to connect with members of Iberocoop and confirm the intention of Wikimedia Chile to organize Iberoconf 2019; we also were able to engage with members of the Wikimedia Foundation regarding the funding of this event.
Anything else
editIn the conference, I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop with the South African author Helen Moffet, with other members of grants committees. The workshop about biases was an incredible experience, extremely helpful to understand how bias works within us, without even noticing it. It would be great to see this kind of experience replicated to other parts of our movement.
