summaryI am part of education program of Wikimedia and I am working on Gender gap issue. As a girl in tech, and open culture Adacamp is the perfect place to share and learn more on how to reduce the gap issue. I have almost 2 years on Gender gap issue of Wikipedia(with workshops presentations, edit-a-thon events just for girls). And Since i was 16 with the gender gap issue that exist on girls working/studying for Engineering.

I am an active Wikipedian with a considerable contribution on Gender Gap Issue. I have had a submission accepted at Adacamp, where I will be speaking about the gender gap issue that exist on Wikipedia specially at the Albanian Wikipedia. I have done activities and i am planing to do more in collaboration with others Wikimedias(like Serbian one) to increase the participation of girls on editing Wikipedia.

Goal and expected impact

As a result of my talk/discussion , hopefully everyone in the audience will understand the importance of having more females on Wikipedia, and sharing their own experience/thoughts about this. So we together to find more alternatives how to reduce the gap.

Budget breakdown

1459 USD

• Travel: From Tirana, Albania to Quebec, Canada. 1100 USD
• Visa: 79 USD
• Accommodation: USD 70 per night x 4 nights. 280 USD
• About the accommodation the price can be lower if i find more people to share the room.

Other instructions

The round trip from Albania to Canada was around 900-1100 USD. As the price is a little bit to high for me if i will win the scholarship it would be nice if Wikimedia book the ticket for me. I need a visa to go to Canada, so please as soon as possible I need to know if i won or not the scholarship. It would be great if a have a advance disbursement for the accommodation.
