Outcome

edit
Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?

After participating various GLAM related talks and discussions, interacting with the global GLAM community I had captured my learning on the OpenGLAM blog. The blog shares tidbits of the GLAM talks, workshops, discussions and brown bag talks that happened during Wikimania 2014.

Add a link here to a blog post or newsletter you wrote about your participation afterwards, or to a meet-up you organized to share your experience with your local community.'

Connections

edit

The learning and evaluation session led by Dr Jaime Anstee was quite a learning experience for me where I took part in a group activity and representing our group that was working on strategizing a thematic program on mapping all the birds of the Netherlands, I presented the strategy in front of the participants there. I also participated in the Indic meetup where Wikimedians from South Asia discussed on issues with technical liason, logistics related to outreach, collaborative projects among communities and learning from past activities. I also had interesting conversations with Danny O'Brien from the Electronic Frontier Foundation on Internet surveillance and encryption. With other informal meetings with colleagues from various European countries about the negotiations with the government urging open access and those were quite useful and inspiring to start similar activities in India.
