Outcome
edit- Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
- Option 2: Learning Pattern: What is one useful learning pattern you can share with the Wikimedia movement?
- Option 3: New Creation: What was one useful outcome that was created at the event for the Wikimedia movement?
- a. Attended many useful sessions, and live-broadcast three sessions that were valuable but were not being recorded so that others could watch them (A Facebook Live session by Wikitongues on preserving languages, Talk "One Image at a time - How Governments can help in bridging the information gap on Wikipedia" by Sailesh Pattanaik, and Facebook Live recording - Working towards Growing Local Language Content on Wikipedia (GLOW))
-
Talk on multimedia documentation of native languages
-
Talk on lobbying with governments for relicensing content under Creative Commons by Sailesh Patnaik
-
Talk about Google-supported editathon to grow content on most-searched topics
- b. Attended presentation on Lingua Libre and met the Wikimedians behind the project. It was so moving that I started recording right after coming back from Wikimania. I have uploaded over 1900+ pronunciations (and growing..) in Odia language on Commons to help fix some bugs and expanding the scope for improvements, and made a Facebook Live show for the Odia speakers to learn how to use Lingua Libre. I will be creating a tutorial soon which does not exist at the moment.
- c. Updated our toolkit for multimedia documentation of marginalized languages. This will be available soon on Outreach/Wikiversity wiki.
- d. Connected with several Creative Commons contributors. Hosted a live show on Facebook and one more on Twitter for Odia speakers to learn about using CC licenses for the creative work
-
Tutorial on relicensing creative works under Creative Commons license (in Odia)
-
A promotional video created to be used on social media to promote Creative Commons India chapter relaunch
- e. Helping relaunch the Creative Commons India Chapter by gathering
- Add a link to something new that was created as a result of your participation in this event (for example, you might link to a new tool that you and your co-participants worked on at the Hackathon, or to pages created in a workshop you participated in).
