Welcome back from Wikimania 2015!
Participant
editOutcome
edit- Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
- Blog post on Wikimedia Chile blog, created with User:Superzerocool.
- Option 3: New Creation: What was one useful outcome that was created at the event for the Wikimedia movement?
- In the conference I joined the discussion led by Jorge Vargas and Yana Welinder of WMF for the creation of an access to knowledge (A2K) coalition, an iniciaive that seeks to bring together stakeholders interested in that issue, as librarians, teachers and, of course, wikipedians.
Connections
editI met a lot of people on the conference, among them staff of the WMF, wikipedians and many local volunteers. I was invited by María Cruz to assist to the WMF Learning Day, where I shared experiences with members of other local chapters. I met Yana Welinder and Jorge Vargas of the WMF legal team, this was the first time we speak in person after several Skype calls and emails. I also met Pau Giner of the WMF.
It was my first time in a conference as president of Wikimedia Chile, and I assisted to the chairpersons meeting led by Jimmy Wales. I also shared a lot with members of the chapters of the Iberocoop iniciative, and we discuss some projects we could develope in the future.
