Budget breakdown
editThe money will be used to create Wikipedia/Wikimedia themed goodies. This amount can cover approximately 125 T-shirts, mugs and pens or other similar items.
The actual items and their proportions might differ from the example given (we are considering pencils, passholders, stickers, pins, etc.) based on our existing stores created through our previous grant (we might need to re-manufacture existing items with the new Wikipedia logo) and their relative popularity so far.
Project scope
editThe aim of this project is to design and create Wikipedia and Wikimedia themed items to be used in our outreach activities, in various Wiki-meetups and competitions organized by us. We have some items already but we wish to replenish our stocks; this is made advisable by the fact that the project logo used on our items is being replaced with the new version and the upcoming Wiki-X celebrations.
Project goal
editThe goal of this project is to create various Wikimedia themed promotional items.
Non-financial requirements
editNone. We will turn for inspiration to the design plans shared by the Foundation.
Fit to strategy
editThe project will provide items that can be used in our chapter's various activities. Activities in which these items can be used can increase participation, quality (if used as prizes), our organizational development (T-shirts might increase affiliation in volunteers and thus motivate them) and financial stability (if used as a fundraising tool). The fact that we have these items ready will be one of the factors that allows us to take on new initiatives or to support new initiatives (e.g. special competitions) coming from community members and to enhance initiatives already being carried out.
Other benefits
editMeasures of success
editWe will consider this project a success if we can produce a variety of items and if we can distribute them.
We can measure the number of items created and distributed (we might not want to distribute every single item in the project's timeframe) and the number of events they were used in. We hope that together with the remainder of our stock of promotional items we can distribute them at least in 5 different events, including a 4-day WikiCamp being organized for August 2010 and various other wiki meetups and competitions.
