Grants talk:IdeaLab/Bring the campaign to social media and blogger influencers
Earth to proposal:
editWikipedia is not a social network, and it never was intended to ever be one. I didn't comment on this earlier as I assumed that everyone already know about this. Apparently not. Tharthan (talk) 00:03, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Tharthan:. While we appreciate your active contributions to the Inspire Campaign and constructive feedback, we would like to remind you of the expectations we have about keeping IdeaLab and the campaign a Friendly Space (see Friendly Space Expectations). Please be aware that not all participants in the campaign are experienced Wikimedians who are familiar with the norms and policies of the different projects. This is a space for the discussion of ideas and we expect all participants to be treated with respect. Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 20:56, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
What kind of blogging?
editHi there,
I'd love to hear more about your idea, specifically how you see the blogging (& other social media) campaign contributing to increased Wikipedia engagement and participation among women. Personally I could see how it might be interesting to have a group of bloggers from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life start blogging about why they edit Wikipedia or documenting their experiences of becoming an editor or committing to editing Wikipedia for a month (in some ways, this is not unlike what the Outreachy program does - see this section about blogging requirements for participants of the program. I'm not sure exactly what the reasons are behind this requirement and if the organizers of the program have ever run any analysis on the effect of having participants blog about their experiences - might be worth following up with them?
Interested to hear more more. -Thepwnco (talk) 17:28, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
Ineligible for the Inspire Campaign
editHi kathysipple, Cbechervaise, and Vatsan34. Thanks for submitting this idea - your goals seem wonderful and we wish you the best success. Unfortunately, this does not appear to meet the eligibility criteria for an Inspire Grant - namely, there are no budget or project details. So, I've marked the status as ineligible in its current state. Feel free to keep working on this page for other purposes, though, and if you have an idea in the future that focuses on improving a Wikimedia project, you'd be welcome to submit something in a future round. Thanks again for participating! Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 20:57, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
