Grants talk:PEG/WM ES/GLAMing Madrid/Report

Hi Rodelar. Thank you for all your work on this project and for the detailed and informative reporting. We really appreciate all the time spent on writing this report and reflections on successes, challenges, and lessons learned. It sounds like the major goals were accomplished -- congrats! The report is approved and we have some comments below.

1. It's great to hear that the project was successful in developing partnerships with state museums and is the start to wider collaboration with GLAM institutions. As WMES develops further partnerships, it will be important to remember the lessons learned during this project around tailoring projects to the needs and circumstances of each individual institution.
2. It's obvious that the content donated by the GLAMs are of high quality and encyclopedic value since 58% are already in use! Thanks for including all of the important statistics and we especially like the bar graphs which make it easy to see the impact of the donations.
3. While you had fewer participants in the writing contest than hoped for, the results are still great, with 335 articles and other contributions over 10 different languages.
4. We are happy to see such a high percentage of female participants (75%) and know this was a goal of the project and reason to focus on certain topic areas.
5. We're sorry to hear the audio recordings from the first concert were not usable, but it's great that you were able to quickly adapt and that the other musicians agreed to donate high-quality recordings. The usage statistics are impressive! It sounds like this is an activity WMES is interested in continuing in the future and you now have some good partners as well.
6. Does WMES and/or the GLAM staff that were trained during the project plan on holding more regular events?
7. What kind of follow-up have you done with the participants from the workshops, if any?

Hi Alex. First of all, thank you for your encouraging words. We are very satisfied with the work done and because of the interest that has aroused, we think this project will be the start of many other initiatives with cultural institutions in Spain in the coming years. The collaboration with these three museums continues and we are planning more activities: the institutions and staff are glad with the results and they are motivated for continuing the collaboration with regular events, so we are organizing workshops in one of the museums, an edit-a-thon in other museum and more classical music recordings in other museum. We have contacted with the participants from the workshops in several occasions: WMES meetings in Madrid, invitation to participate in other activities celebrated in these past months, invitation to future activities, online help about editing Wikipedia and even a participant invited us to give a talk in a congress about archaeology in September. --Rodelar (talk) 11:04, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Training materials for GLAM events

Hi! What a great report: I see that you have had multiple training events, but none of the descriptions have links to the training materials. Is there a chance that you could link or include the training materials in the document? Hi Astinson. Thanks!. The reason why there is no links to the materiales is because, in those training sessions, the learning took place first through an explanation by me of how to edit, politics of Wikipedia, references, use of images, etc, and then with the improvement or creation of articles. I offered them links to useful Wikipedia pages: help, templates, etc. but I think you mean other type of materials. --Rodelar (talk) 22:12, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
