Reinforce the authenticity of Wikipedia

edit

A lot believe wikipedia is flawed however by execution of this project, the participants will understand and see how articles are added and that the encyclopedia is controlled and protected from vandalism. I will be present physically for the project as one of the facilitator. Taofeeq Abdulkareem (talk) 18:20, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Relevance and the sustainability of the project

edit

Akure is the capital city of Ondo State, South Western Nigeria and I am highly fascinated about the strategic location of the project. The project will go a long way to sensitise the populace about Wikimedia projects, encourage them to contribute their quota to Wikipedia in terms of tribe, Languages, historical places and their various cultures by using edit-a-thon. Also, creating Akure Wikimedia Editors will go a long way to ensure that the project is sustained. As a facilitator that has worked with Tesleemah in the past, I have been informed of my roles and I will be available for the project. Ibjaja055 (talk) 10:58, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

The applicant is one the editors I met recently in Gombe during the Wikimedia awareness project were she has demonstrated her experience and skills as we were both invited to work as facilitators. Owing to the fact that there is a need for Wikimedia promotion in the location where the event is designed to take place, the experienced editors involved in the proposal will be there to give her all the necessary supports. Hello Tesleemah, thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request.

  • We think that the proposal hasn't been discussed and communicated with all relevant Wikimedia groups.
  • The proposed budget does not align with the described activities and overall project impact. The application needs to have a reasonable budget that is aligned with your context.

On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team. Best regards, DGuedri (WMF) (talk) 08:05, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
