Grants talk:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Rapid Fund/Wikivoyage article contest 2024 (ID: 22760166)
Endorsement from মোহাম্মদ মারুফ (talk)
editThis proposal is important because it fills knowledge gaps and involves people whom usually don't pay attention, but want to contribute. The plan is well thought out, especially in how it reaches out to the community, forms partnerships, and measures success. Everything in the proposal, from goals to budget, fits together nicely, and it builds on past experiences to improve Wikivoyage.
-- ≈ MS Sakib «TalK» 19:08, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

Your grant application has been approved
editHello @Yahya,
Thank you for your patience.
Congratulations! Your grant application has been approved in the amount of BDT 64,417.02 from 30 September 2024 to 30 November 2024. Note that the earliest start date for projects in Cycle 1 is 30 September. We extended the end date of your project so that you have sufficient time to complete the project implementation cycle and submit the report. Please feel free to submit your final report early as needed.
Observations/ Recommendations / Notes
- 1) Key comments captured through the review process: Wikivoyage is still in its nascent stage. A different attempt from the Bengali community from Bangladesh. The team seems to have sufficient knowledge to guide through the programme. The budget seems reasonable. Support for the proposal.
- 2) As part of our intention to connect wikimedians who may be interested in doing similar work, here's another project (application; talkpage) which looks to build content contribution to Wikivoyage in Pangasinan, the Philippines. Please feel free to reach out to them if you are interested to find out more or collaborate.
- 3) If you are keen to explore longer term planning for your activities, which provides more lead-time in planning, organising, implementation and securing resources (i.e. in-kind or grants), here are examples of individual wikimedians or groups of wikimedians who have taken that approach and could be useful reference for future grant applications - (application; talkpage) (Note: we receive applications in multiple language. Do tap on web translation tools if needed).
We know even the best thought through plans may change
In the event that there are changes to your implementation schedule, you can reach out to request for a grant extension (i.e. extend end date). Similarly, if there is a surplus budget or changes to your planned budget, you can reach out to me about reallocation (via email and on this talkpage). There is also the option to have the unspent funds deducted against a future grant. More details here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Return_unused_funds_to_WMF
