Reminder: Change status to proposed to submit

IMPORTANT: Please note that you must change your proposal status from "draft" to "proposed" by the submission deadline in order for your proposal to be reviewed in the current round. When your proposal has been successfully submitted, it will show up in the "Open proposals" list (it may take several minutes for the list to update after you submit it). Applications that are not completely filled out and correctly submitted by the deadline will not be reviewed. To submit your proposal, you must complete all fields of the application and then:

1. Click on "edit source"

2. Change "|status=DRAFT" to "|status=PROPOSED"

3. Click the "Publish changes" button.

Some questions or suggestions

Hello, I was already aware of the project and I think it is a very enriching initiative as a multimedia testimony of what was achieved within Catalan-speaking community.

In any case, let me comment me some points, so you can clarify them or consider to incorporate them...

• Despite the main aim is generating a multimedia work, I wonder if you could also provide with it a lengthy story text (along with photos and/or video cuts from the documentary itself) about its contents, interviewees, projects, etc. I think this would still be helpful for users with accessibility issues, and it should not represent an extreme amount of additional work. This could be either in a specific website or just in a Wikiproject page itself.
• Do you already have some ideas or suggestions regarding the material / footage you are going to generate which might be used for promotion or Wikipedia support?
• I suspect generated multimedia material would be CC-BY-SA, but could you elaborate on that? I think this may be relevant regarding the purchase of archive footage (which I imagine you already researched about).
• Related to the previous question, do you already have a list or a source of candidate footage to be liberated?

Hi Toni.

The film will be fully released under a CC, so shorter material can be made available, sure. About the footage material, when buying it, releasing under CC was a condition. (probably, a CC-BY-SA, but not decided yet, and compatible with the projects in any case). The material will be used to cover those points of Viquipedia's history that we can't illustrate by our own means, but will probably cover some Newsreels pieces rather than individual interviews, because we can interview Wikimedians by ourselves.

Hola Toni, encantat de saludar-te

A la primera qüestió que ens comentes sobre transcriure el documental no està previst. Però et puc avaçar que per a la gent que tinga dificultat de visionat podrà gaudir de la versió en podcast, com també les persones que ho vulguen podran activar els subtítols en les diferents llengües inclós el català. De totes formes si vols tu o algú algun tipus de material concret per a facilitar aquesta transcripció ens ho podreu demanar i ho facilitarem sense problemes.

Respecte a la segona qüestió els grafismes i materials que utilitzem els posarem a disposició per a que si en algun moment AMICAL o alguna altra associació de qualsevol lloc del món els vol utilitzar ho puga fer. Esta és una de les coses que hem adoptat després que Francesc parlara amb la junta d'AMICAL i ens ho suggeriren.

Pel que fa a les llicències segurament utilitzarem la que tu esmentes. El producte final tindrà una llicència lliure, per la qual cosa el material d'arxiu que s'utilitzen també estarà llicenciat de manera lliure, és una de les condicions que estem posant per a la compra.

I per últim no tenim encara seleccionat el material, ho sentim.

Per our email and meetings about this, we are not able to review this proposal at this time in Project Grants. This is because we ask that projects associated with affiliates already funded through our Annual Plan Grants programs use the Annual Planning process to prioritize projects.
