Decision on your MSIG proposal - Needs-Based Assessment for Kashmiri Language
editHi @ThePoeticFrame, @Mazarposh, and @Baad-e-Sabaa,
Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your proposal. Overall, it is clear that this project is conducted in the spirit of experimentation and addresses important topics related to knowledge equity, such as identifying community barriers and needs. However, this proposal is outside the scope of MSIG’s current priorities and, unfortunately, cannot be funded under this grant at this time.
After consulting with Jacqueline Chen, Senior Program Officer for ESEAP and SA, we believe this proposal could be supported through a different grant, most likely a rapid grant, to conduct this research. The grant cycle for rapid grants will open in August. Please note that applying for a rapid grant does not guarantee approval for this proposal, as it will undergo review committee approval and other necessary processes before a decision is made.
I also want to offer some initial feedback on your proposal:
- You mentioned meetups and workshops, but there needs to be a budget outlined for these activities.
- Highlighting the outcome of the research and how the community will use it would strengthen your proposal.
- It would be helpful to outline how you plan to connect with the identified partners to conduct the research successfully.
- Clarifying the Kashmiri Wikimedians User Group's role in the research would provide a clearer picture of the project's structure.
As a next step, I suggest you engage with your community members and address this feedback or the next steps. You can also reach out to Jacqueline for any questions about rapid grants.
Thanks again for the time and energy you've put into this process and project.
