editYour current project plan is very intriguing however it does not fit within the scope of Movement Strategy Implementation grants currently.
We recommend that the team applies for a different Community Grant instead. If you choose to apply ffor a separate grant, here is some feedback to help you improve your plan for future applications:
- Clarity and Focus: The project's focus on improving user experience and innovating in free knowledge through collaboration with journalists is commendable. However, no specific details were provided on how the project will address the identified challenges effectively. Providing more concrete strategies and methodologies can strengthen your proposal. For example, the application mentions a risk assessment protocol but does not provide Andy further details. Consider providing a link to the completed tool. Additionally, the application mentions translation activities but lacks specifics on which materials will be translated and into which languages. Provide clear details on the translation plan, including the responsible individuals and the languages involved.
- Measurable Outcomes: While the project team outlined the activities in detail, it's crucial to clearly define measurable outcomes. For instance, how many journalists will be trained, how many articles will be improved, and what metrics will be used to assess the impact? Quantifiable goals will make your proposal more compelling.
- Partnerships and Collaboration: the project plan highlights a collaboration with mainstream media houses and journalists, which is excellent. However, the application lacks information on how these partnerships will be sustained and how you plan to address potential challenges in collaboration.
- Budget Justification: The budget provided is quite detailed, which is good. However, it's essential to justify each expense item. Explain why each expense is necessary for the successful implementation of the project. This will help reviewers understand the rationale behind the budget allocation. Consider adapting the rapid fund budget template to provide a breakdown.
- Impact and Sustainability: This was not clear in the proposal. Consider providing more information on how the project's impact will be sustained in the long run. What mechanisms will be in place to ensure that the improvements made during the project duration continue to benefit the community afterward?
By addressing these points and providing more detailed, specific, and measurable information, your future grant applications will likely be stronger and more convincing. YPam (WMF) (talk) 16:35, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
