editHi Uncle Bash007, thanks for submitting this grant application. I have a few questions after completing the initial review:
- How would you make sure that the content you plan to create and edit follow Wikipedia's notability criteria?
- How would you train participants to improve biographical articles and avoid copyright violations? Do you or the team members have enough experience in this area?
- Will experienced and new editors have different types of training? Or do you plan to have the same training sessions for everyone? In this case, how will you make sure that the topic is accessible to everyone?
- Would you also provide a draft list of articles that you plan to edit?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 16:12, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
Response from Uncle Bash007
editHello DSaroyan (WMF), below are the responses respectedly..
- Each new content will be created based on Wikipedia Notability Guidelines. Biographies will meet the needed requirement and will make sure topics doesn't fall under "what Wikipedia is not". Individual articles will be created based on its independencies and citations will be cited from reliable sources (Both primary and secondary sources). Existing articles will be improved with citations as well.
- Yes, I have experience in both academic writings (thesis) and in Wikipedia at large. Infact, I focus more on adding citations and improving exsiting articles. I know how crucial a reference for verification of any data and copyright issues as well. I also have a technical knowledge in writing and am aware of many citation guidelines such as the APA style of referencing. Thus, partcipants will be exposed to what copyright is (including penalties for violating them), Usefulness of citations, and how to summarize and paraphrase information to avoid direct copy and paste. My team also have enough experience to execute the project.
- Due to experience variation between the two participants, the session will be splitted in two sections. The first section will be general and will cover the basic topics such as copyright, citations, reliable sources and how to edit Wikipedia. Experienced editors will be guided on how to improve there citations and summarizing skills in the second segment.
- I will work on creating the list and ofcourse the list of all the articles created/Improved will be provided during report (as I normally do in most of my reports)Uncle Bash007 (talk) 18:45, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
