Hi Discott. Thanks for completing this report! It's great to hear that the event went well and it was a good time for editors to connect in person. Are there any particular highlights from the discussions? Would be great to know if there are specific conversations or work/projects the community wants to take forward after the event.
In terms of the underspend, since this grant was funded from underspends (except for $111), you don't actually have those remaining funds in your account and this grant will operate as a reimbursement. If you would like to apply for another grant to cover the accounting/website costs before you apply for a Simple Annual Plan grant, you can do so. - Hi AWang (WMF), a rang of issues were discussed at the social such as the situation of other African language Wikis and af.wikipedia in the context of the broader Wikimedia movement. We also talked a fair bit about the chapter and ways the chapter can better support the Wiki. Most of the conversations were informal and it was great to meet some editors we had not met face-to-face before. Oesjaar will be able to give more detail than I can regarding the nature of other conversations that were had at the event. Especially regarding Afrikaans Wikipedia. As for unspent funds I would like to apply for a grant to cover some website and accounting costs before we apply for a Simple Annual Plan Grant, that would be great.
