  • What will be the focus during these meetings?
  • Are there specific skills that you want to train during the gatherings?
  • Will there be any difference between different meetings?
  • Could you please provide a short timeline of one of the meetings?
  • Approximately, how many active contributors does your community have?
  • Zoom Pro annual subscription is 149.90 USD. Given the project scope, we will not support more than one Zoom pro annual subscriptions for this project. Please reduce the Zoom annual subscription expenses.

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), Thank you for reviewing my proposal. Below are responses to the questions asked.

  • The focus during these meetings depends on the group that we are meeting. In meeting the community members, I would spend time training/reviewing participants (new and existing editors) on the basics of contributing to Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. With the team meetings, participants will be taking through the processes involved in executing the projects under Wikimedia Foundation. In these team meetings, some selected community members will also be invited to participate with the existing team members with the intention of grooming them to take up leadership roles in the community.
  • Yes, there will be difference between different meetings. Each meeting will have a skill targeted at.
  • Yes, there are specific skills to train participants on during these gatherings. As indicated in the response above, participants will be trained on the basics of contributing to Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. Selected participants will also be trained on leadership skills with the intention of grooming them to take up leadership roles in the Community.
  • The community meetups will come every other Saturday for 3 months and the Team online meetups will take place every other Sunday for 3 months. That means that, both meetups(Team and Community members) will take one and a half months apiece.
  • Approximately, we have a little above 10 active contributors. Most of the community members become active when we have a running project and that is the more reason why there is the need to engage them for a longer duration in order to let them know that they have to always be active contributors.
  • The zoom annual subscription expense has been updated as directed.
