Comments from WMF
editHello Elena Patrise, thank you for submitting this rapid grant request. I have completed the initial review of your proposal, and I have the following questions and comments.
- Could you please provide the equivalent amount in the requested currency for each budget line?
- Please fill out the Impact section, adding some projected numbers for your planned events.
- Thank you for sharing with us your past experience. It looks really impressive!
- It’s great that many experienced editors will be supporting you at the events. Will you have at least one experienced editor for a single event?
Thank you again for addressing the gender gap and contributing to Wikimedia projects! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:12, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
DSaroyan (WMF), thank you for asking. I completed previous questions as accurate as possible.--Elena Patrise (talk) 21:11, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

Adaption
edit@DSaroyan (WMF) Due to the global pandemic some Edit-a-thons and events had to be cancelled, some rescheduled and some online Edit-a-thons and Webinars occured. Who writes his_tory? can reach its audience best via a Newsletter, social media and through different festivals and art institutions. For the latter we would like to spend a part of the grant for webhosting and printed postcards, as we changed the communication strategy a little bit during the pandemic. Once we also had to rent a big room for an organisational meeting to provide enough space between each participant. Otherwise the expenses do not change much to the original rapid grant: food & beverages, travel expenses, internet costs. But as we continue hosting Edit-a-thons it would be great to have the opportunity to extend the grant-period until end of March 2021.--Elena Patrise (talk) 20:00, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Elena Patrise, I'm sorry to learn that your project has been affected and disrupted by COVID-19. Thank you for taking time to adjust your budget to the new circumstances. Could you please post your updated budget breakdown here, so that I could review and approve it? We would be happy to offer you an extension for the grant completion. Would an extension until February 20, 2021, work for you? I'm asking this because Rapid Grants can last up to 1 year maximum. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:11, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
@DSaroyan (WMF)
Sorry for the delayed answer. Hopefully this gets through right in time.
So far spent:
- CHF 408.25 Food & Beverages
- CHF 181.30 Infrastructure (Data, Rent, Website Host)
- CHF 80.00 Print material (Postcards)
- CHF 610.00 Travel Expenses
Remaining funds:
- CHF 320
We still plan to host further events this year online and beginning next year a physical one and agree on extending the grant until February 20, 2021 We plan to print another set of postcards as a give away for future editors and institutions. Over all we reach most of the new contributers via our newsletter and our website (additionally to social media) and would therefore invest some of the grant to improve our digital infrastructure. --Elena Patrise (talk) 07:33, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
