editHello FaithMwanyolo, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant proposal. I have a few questions after reviewing it. Please address them all in this page:
- How will make sure that Wiki Loves Africa and Wiki Loves Folklore contests do not overlap and for example, participants will not upload the same photos for both contest?
- In the report for Wiki Loves Monuments 2020 in Kenya, you mentioned that you did not achieve the initial goals. What will you differently to ensure that you will reach the goals this time?
- Please confirm that you will notify Kenyan Wikimedians on your community pages of Wikipedia, Meta-Wiki, Wikimedia Commons, etc.
- Is this the first time Kenya will join the Wiki Loves Folklore contest?
- I noticed that your contributions to Wikimedia Commons are under 100 edits. Do you or other team members have enough experience on Wikimedia Commons to train and support other participants if needed?
- In terms of the budget, please reduce the contingency costs by half (50 USD) and update the total requested amount. This is done.
Looking forward to your responses. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:04, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Since Wiki Loves Folklore will start from February 1 - February 28 for a month, and Wiki Loves Africa will begin from February 15 - April 15 they will not interfere because we have divided responsibilities in order to ensure that they run concurrently.
- We have already taken the first step to ensure we achieve our goals by registering and applying for grants early enough to allow for adequate time to plan. We have also fostered collaborations with the Kenyan Librarian network and the Goethe Institut to help get new participants; which we had done towards the end of WLM and therefore was not fruitful.
- I confirm that the Kenyan Wikimedians will be informed via various channels.
- Yes, this is Kenya's first time.
- We are more than equipped to train and support participants as we have done so numerous times.
- The budget has been readjusted.
