Hi Gilbert Ndihokubwayo, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions to learn more about the project and planned activities.

  • Could you please provide more details about the photowalks? What are the locations and which natural areas / objects do you plan to photograph?
  • How have you made sure that images from mentioned natural areas are missing from Wikimedia projects?
  • How will you assure the content quality? What is your strategy of getting unique photos?
  • Do you have team members who are experienced in Wikimedia Commons and can train others?
  • Have you discussed this project with other community members?
  • Given the project scope, please reduce the prize budget to 300 USD.
  • Please run either launching or closing ceremonies and adjust the budget accordingly.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:48, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello DSaroyan (WMF)!
Thank you for the feedback to my project.
To answer your questions,
  • We plan to photograph cultural heritage sites of Burundi covering protected natural areas like Kibira National Park, Ruvubu National Park, Rusizi National Park, Kigwena Natural Reserve, Lake Rwihinda Natural Reserve (Lac aux Oiseaux)
In terms of quality, we can also follow the guidelines detailed at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:First_steps/Quality_and_description
To get unique photos, we will analyze the areas’ representation on Wikimedia Commons beforehand, particularly through relevant categories.
  • Yes, we do have community members who are now experienced in Wikimedia Commons and, they will help to train others.
  • Yes, we have already discussed this project with other members of our community.
  • I have reduced the prize budget.
