Hi CristianNX. Thank you for this grant request and your efforts to organize the first Wiki Loves Earth in Italy. We are happy to support the project and excited to see the photos! It sounds like you have a great outreach and communications plan and well as ideas for supporting photo use on the Wikimedia projects. I'll be interested to hear about the benefits of the jury meeting in person. As far as I know, most juries do all of their work online. Please let us know how it goes in your report. Hi Alex Wang, thank you for your support. You're right, most juries do all of their work only online, but we want replicate the positive experiences of the last three editions of Wiki Loves Monuments in Italy. We will work online during the skimming phases, but for the final jury phase (the one that will decree the 10 winners) we will have some famous naturalist photographers, and it's better to organize a real meeting instead of an other online phase. These photographers will be "quite" old, so it will be easier to meet us for real. Moreover, discussing in person will be strategic in view of the next editions. --CristianNX (talk) 13:04, 28 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dear @AWang (WMF):, we're working on the final jury phase, for which were allocated 468.42 EUR. Unfortunately we are unable to organize the desired meeting, due to time or/and travel unavailability of the professional photographers. So, we thought to use Montage also for this final jury phase: we hope it will be ok.
I'm writing you to ask if we can re-allocate this sum to buy other prizes. We would like to reward the bests picture of every of the 7 regions and also give some special prizes, for example for the best pictures of flora and fauna. In this way, the entire sum of the grant will be allocated to the purchase of the prizes: 1.000 EUR for the 10 national winners and ~500 EUR for special and regional prizes. Tell me if it can be ok for you. Many thanks, --CristianNX (talk) 16:10, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dear @AWang (WMF): sorry if I disturb you. I want to inform you that we already bought all the prizes, as indicated in the grant. The grant deadline was yesterday, but we still have ~150€ of remaining fund, that we want to use to buy a booklet of 20 postal shipments, that we will use to send the prizes to all winners across Italy. The sum is still on the grant, but we can buy it this week, so a little bit over the deadline of July 30th. Tell me if it can be ok. Then, I will write the report. Thank you. --CristianNX (talk) 14:47, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
