Hello Jani Pereira, thank you for resubmitting this Rapid Grant request. It is great to see that you are running the Wiki Loves Earth contest in Brazil! I have reviewed your proposal and have the following comments and questions:

  • Per Rapid Grant Guidelines, Rapid Grant funds may not currently be used as compensation for people’s time, so I have to ask you to remove the “Brochure design” costs from your budget. Please do the same for the “Small tutorial videos” line, if it will be used as compensation for time. Otherwise, please explain what exactly you will be covering in the film production process.
  • Does Wikimedia Community User Group Brazil have any other role in this project besides providing technical support?
  • You mentioned that six volunteers would assist you in this project. Are these volunteers Wikimedia community members? If yes, could you include their usernames in the proposal page?

I'm looking forward to your response. Thank you! 11:08, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi,
Thank you very much for reviewing my application and for the informations.
  • I have already modified the proposal and costs as instructed.
  • As registered on the WLE Brazil discussion page "the UG Wiki Movimento Brasil is happy to provide technical assistance --when requested and if feasible-- to the organizing team and to support the dissemination of information on the event. We will not engage in any direct activity associated to organizing, managing and curating this particular event"
  • And I included in the proposal the volunteers who have already made themselves available to participate in this project.
I'm at your disposal for any further information you may need. Jani Pereira (talk) 03:40, 20 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

The WLE contest is over and we are happy with the Brazilian result, although it was a distance activity due to COVID-19. However, one activity remains to be carried out: the awarding of the 2 winners with a participation in the expedition to a natural heritage. Unfortunately, most of Brazil's nature reserves are closed, because the country is struggling to control COVID-19 (Corona tracker of Brazil). Considering the situation in the country and the risk for the participants, I would like to request an extension of the deadline until next semester (April 16th, 2021). I hope you are fine. Hello Jani Pereira, thanks for posting your request on the discussion page. I'm sorry to learn that you face some challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm happy to offer you the requested extension until April 15, 2021 since Rapid Grants cannot last more than a year. The new reporting due date is now May 15, 2021. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:53, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi DSaroyan (WMF), thank you so much for reviewing our deadline so quickly. We hope that the situation of the country (and the world) will be controlled soon for the benefit of all. With best wishes, Jani Pereira (talk) 13:40, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
