Hi Modjou, and thanks for your report on your work at the African Summit on Women and Girls in Technology. Here are my comments on your report:

  • Thank you very much for your thoughtful reflection on what worked well and didn't work well with the edit-a-thons. It's very helpful to know your experience and circumstances you faced when running these edit-a-thons at the Summit, both in terms of improving your own events in the future, but also to share these lessons for others in the movement.
  • That you were able to offer your expertise and provide access to the workshop to both French and English speakers participating at the Summit is valuable and important work in community building.
  • In terms of some of the more practical issues you faced, it is very important to contact an administrator or an account creator as you are planning your event to ensure they can be available to help with account creation in a shared space and avoid hitting the account creation limit. I'm glad that African Hope was able to help address this issue during the event!
  • This Outreach Dashboard link appears to be incorrect, as it doesn't lead to a page. Could this be corrected?
  • It's a little unclear what the overall participation was in the events related to this grant. In the report, it says that there were 8 new editors, 3 presentation attendees, and 12 participants who were trained during the Summit. How many total participants were there across the summit in your events?

This report is formally approved, but when you're able, please respond to the above questions. Thanks very much for running a successful set of edit-a-thons and introductions to Wikipedia at the at the African Summit on Women and Girls in Technology! Hi I JethroBT (WMF),
  • Thanks for the tip, I will contact an administrator or account creator when planning an upcoming event to avoid future inconvenience.
  • A dozen participants were trained at the summit and only 8 of them were able to have an account created. I updated the report.
  • I have just solved the problem of the link.Sorry for this problem. Best--Modjou (talk) 17:40, 11 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
