Selection

How are the recipients selected? Saying "Executive Staff members of the User Group" doesn't tell much, I'd expect an open application process. The page Wikimedia Community User Group Côte d'Ivoire lists 36 usernames, did they democratically select a subset of the group with the understanding that they'd be eligible for economical benefits, or was the "executive staff" selected according to some other criterion? --Nemo 12:17, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

Executive Staff members were elected basing on during their commitment within the community during the 4^th General Assembly of the WCUG-CI, earlier this year . Hello Modjou, thank you for your proposal. This looks like it will improve your user group contributions to wikipedia. Thank you also for providing a list of your executive board. However, I see you have four executive board members and two auditors bringing your count to six instead of eight. In addition, would it also be possible to share these devices amongst the board instead of providing one for each executive board member? We fund equipment that will be shared by the user group instead of ones that are used by just one member. To that end, would it be possible for you to create a log book like this one [1] so that members know where the equipment is at all times.

Please let us know if it would be possible to edit the proposal for 4 Pocket wifi devices instead of 9 with the addition of the log book. Hello @WJifar (WMF):, Actually, six persons have been elected during the last general Assembly. In view of the importantload of work and activities of the User Group, the executive staff is assisted by 5 delegates, some of them working with an assistant:

• One Administrative delegate, who is also project manager of Wiki Loves Africa, Mouahé
• One delegate in charge of inner communication, kctzch
• One delegate in charge of external communication and public relations, Emmanuel Dabo
• One Graphic Designer, Ivcom
• One photographer, Aman ADO

In total there are six members of executive office receiving supported by five delegates who in some cases workwith assistants. This adds up to a total of thirteen active members out of the forty members of the User Group. Hello Modjou, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the necessity for nine pocket wifi devices. While I appreciate the number of people involved unfortunately, I would still only be able to approve providing you with 4 pocket wifi devices with the logbook in place that you can share among your user group. Could you please edit your proposal to reflect the change in number of devices and budget? I can then go ahead and approve your request.
