Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Rosalina523/Report
Report accepted
editHi, Rosalina523, thank you for submitting this final report and your expense documentation. I have reviewed and accepted bot!. Please note that this grant will not be complete until we determine what to do with the remaining funds.
Comments and Questions
- Congratulations on a successful event, and on creating or improving so many more articles than anticipated! It seems like there's real enthusiasm for learning more about Wikipedia and Wikidta. It's also encouraging to see that a few or your attendees came back after a prior event.
- Having resources pulled and organized ahead of time is a great way to help new editors. Also having someone on hand to provide individual coaching after the group training sessions is an excellent idea.
- It can be hard to keep grantees engaged after events. It's encouraging that you had some continue editing the rest of the month, even if there was significant drop off by the end. Do you have specific ideas for how to stay in touch with them now after the event so that they'll be more engaged when the next one comes around?
Remaining funds You have three options for your remaining funds:
- You can return the remaining funds to WMF, following these instructions.
- You can request in the "remaining funds" section of the grant report to keep the funds and use them for mission-aligned activities. This is probably the best way for you to deal with your remaining funds; they could be used to buy refreshments for a CIWUG meeting, like you suggested. We would just require that you submit any additional receipts and leave a brief comment here explaining how the funds were spent.
- You can request that they be deducted from another grant. You would need to submit an application within 30 days, and it would need to meet all the normal criteria for a rapid grant, including the $500 USD minimum. However, we don't usually approve projects more than 3-4 months in advance, so an application for 2020 edit-a-thon would likely not be a good fit.
Once you have decided which of these options you'd like to pursue, please leave update the report and email rapidgrants. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this grant, and for sharing what you learned with WMF and the community!
Warmly, LSmith (WMF) (talk) 20:05, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Report update
editThanks for the comments on the project. I'll update the report to request that the remaining funds be used for refreshments for a July 2019 gathering of the Central Indiana Usergroup. Rosalina523 (talk) 15:09, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
