Hi Rossella Vignola (OBC). Thank you for this request and your continued work on the Wiki4MediaFreedom project. We're excited to see this new element of a writing and translation contest and wish you the best of luck! Cheers, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 19:05, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi @AWang (WMF):, we are happy to announce the Winners of the First edition of the Wiki4MediaFreedom contest!
- Translations
- 1st Prize: Kaspo for the article Libertà dei media in Russia translated into Italian
- 2nd Prize: Camelia.boban for the article Media in Serbia translated into Italian
- 3rd Prize: Goth nespresso for the article Omicidio di Jan Kuciak translated into Italian
- 3rd Prize ex aequo: Mudroslav for the article Daphne Caruana Galizia translated into Croatian
- Improvements
- 3rd Prize: Prose-proem for the article World Press Freedom Day improved in English
The other prizes for the category "Improvements" have not been assigned. Instead we assigned an additional prize within the category "Translations" in order to reward the contribution on languages other than Italian.
I take this occasion to ask if it would be possible to extend the duration of the grant to December31st, in order to have more time to run the Second edition of the Contest. We learned from the First one, that we need more time to promote it and engage the various linguistic communities. Would this be possible?
Thank you for your support. Best, --Rossella Vignola (OBC) (talk) 11:12, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
