editHi Sandeep Raut, thank you for submitting this detailed report. Congratulations on successfully completing your project and meeting all your targets! I have reviewed your grant report and have the following questions and comments.
- The number of participants you have reached is truly impressive. Have you measured the retention rate of participants after your event?
- I really like the idea of having a quiz at the end of the training session. What kind of questions have you asked the participants?
- It is great to see that the project was covered in the local media!
- Are you planning to implement similar educational projects in the future?
Thank you again for sharing this report and what you learned with WMF and the community. I have accepted your final report and expense documentation. This grant is now complete. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 13:48, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thanks to you and the entire WMF Grants Committee for reviewing my very first project. It was the teamwork that made it possible.
- Yes, the number of participants was more than what we expected. During the program, we came to know that around 20% of the participants were unknown about Wikipedia. Rest of the participants were unaware about various other Wikimedia projects. The program turned out to be an enlightening event for the participants about the world's largest online encyclopedia. We are in close contact with 20 participants who are active readers on Wikipedia and around 7 participants have started to contribute as well.
- Quiz helps in quick assessment of knowledge gap. We asked below-mentioned simple questions during the program:
- Who is the founder of Wikipedia?
- Name a few Wikimedia projects.
- What is Wikipedia?
- What is the number of Wikipedia articles?
- Is Wikipedia free to read and edit?
- Yes, the local news had a great impact. After the news got published online, we got many calls and messages regarding the program and they were even asking to conduct the program at their colleges and universities.
- Yes, hopefully we will be conducting such programs in the days to come as well. However, I am also thinking of organizing some promotional campaigns followed by an outreach program in the days to come. Warm Regards, --Sandeep Raut (talk) 18:16, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
