Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Tuanminh01/Vietnamese Wikipedia Nature Science Contest 2017
Comments from I JethroBT (WMF)
editHi Tuanminh01, and thanks for your proposal focused on improving articles in the natural sciences on Vietnamese Wikipedia. It's great to see there's community interest in this proposal given that these topics don't receive much attention on the project. Also glad to see you're making use of on-wiki and off-wiki methods of inviting participation in both of your contests. I hope the word-of-mouth method with university students works well for you. This proposal is officially approved. Thanks very much for offering to prepare these events, and we'll look forward to hearing your outcomes from these first contests. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 20:49, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

@I JethroBT (WMF): Thanks for your encouragement. The contest month will start tomorrow and the current number of signup editors is 107, much exceeding the estimated 50. Hopefully the number of created/expanded articles will increase proportionally. Regards, Tuanminh01 (talk) 10:10, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Tuanminh01:: How do I tell the size of a Wikipedia article or the section I've contributed?--Pearlyriver (talk) 04:54, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
- You can check by viewing the article's history. Regards, Tuanminh01 (talk) 12:14, 10 September 2017 (UTC)
@I JethroBT (WMF): Today, after 10 days into the contest, the number of created/edited articles is already 290, so I think September contest will be very successful with the final number of created/edited articles will be at least double the estimated 300, hopefully. Regards, Tuanminh01 (talk) 08:55, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Tuanminh01: Amazing! Reading this sort of success remind me that we could use more emotes on our projects. :P I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 16:28, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
