Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Twi Wikimedians/Twi Wiki Translat-a-thon III
Comments from DSaroyan (WMF)
editHello Jemima2019 thanks for submitting your Rapid Fund request. We have reviewed your application and have a few questions and comments:
- Could you please elaborate on what you will be doing differently this time compared to Twi Transla-ta-thon I & II?
Ans: In Twi Transla-ta-thon I & II we did not add the audios to the articles but this time, we will be adding the recorded audios to the articles worked on.
- Will Global Open Initiative receive the funds for this project as it was for your last projects?
Ans: For this grant, the Global Open Initiative will not be receiving funds for this project although the Twi community is a product of the Global Open Initiative Foundation. One of the goals of the Global Open Initiative is to increase it’s team members capabilities and hence through this grant application process, we want to expose the core Twi community team members to WMF’s grant submission and reporting process.
- Aside from including the communication channels, you are also required to provide links to on-wiki pages where you have informed the relevant communities about your proposed work in advance. Please add these links under question #2.
Ans: The links have been provided.
- What tool or app will you use to record words in Twi?
Ans: Spell4Wiki is the app we will be using.
- Given that you also plan to offer souvenirs and certificates, I think that the prize amount is high for 25 participants. My recommendation is to reduce this amount to 1,000 GHS (~150 USD). You may also want to decrease the number of prizes. Please update your budget accordingly.
Ans:The budget has been updated in that regard.
- Did I understand correctly that five jury members will also be mentors, review and edit participants' contributions?
Ans:Yes please, the five jury members will also be mentors, review and edit participants contributions. We used the same procedure in our previous contest and it was effective.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:45, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
