Grants talk:Project/Rapid/UG GE/From Independence To Freedom/Report
I'm still a bit surprised that user Mehman keeps talking about manipulation or defamation of some users. I would like to explain that under "some users" I am meant first of all. On July 8, I objected to the results of competition because second place was awarded to the author of the plagiarizing article. Mehman with MIKHEIL and Jaba1977 was a jury member himself, so he should have his own responsibility. I was the first user who demanded immediate removal of the article according to the wikipedia rules and revision of the competition results. The jury members answered, however, that this plagiarism case was previously known to them. And even more: Mehman, one of the jury members, said that even the third-named article was completely copied from another source. But obviously it was not a problem for them. Afterwards User Jaba1977 allegedly got permission from Mr. Jaba Samushia (the original author of plagiarizing article) to publish his articles in Wikipedia with the reference to the author. However, Mr Jaba Samushia was uninformed that no original research should be published on Wikipedia, especially with the reference to a single original author. Besides, one of the arguments of the jury why the article should not be removed was that "Jaba Samushia's article is not an unique piece of work, it is only an article about the historical process."
Fortunately, We, the users and administrators of the Georgian Wikipedia, have already discussed this topic and that is why the plagiarizing article has been removed. The "some users" that Mehman talks about are actually all responding users of Georgian Wikipedia. After removing the article on my repeated questioning whether the results will be checked, the jury members were silent for a long time. One of the participant of competition who filled themselves out as the disadvantaged also asked specific questions. In response, he received only cynicism from user MIKHEIL: "It is sad that user Chubinidze is very angry that he won no prize in the competition." On July 19, After I asked the repeated question again, whether the jury members review the results, give the price to the plagiarist or use the financing itself, I was banished for a month by MIKHEIL, because of the defamation he said. All 12 responding users promote to unban me. Maybe these are "some users" Mehman is talking about. Only after I notified Wikimedia Foundation about all of this, on July 19 the results were checked by Mehman. I thought that was an excuse for his own mistakes. But now I am really surprised that he keeps talking about unfair accusations and manipulations. This whole process was accompanied by discreditable statements against me: I am a former user and it is not worthy to discuss with me; I am a parasite of Wikipedia, I am Slanderer etc. I'm sorry that it takes again. So I would like to ask, please stop to discredit me. Deu. 21:31, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, Mr. DEU, you are manipulating this issue for something that I do not know at the moment. As for the issue of plagiarism, yes, I did not consider a particular article to be a violation of copyright, since the article was redesigned, as well as another article about which I myself pointed out. But, the jury and the organizers agreed and revised the decision. As for Mr. Chubinidze, as well as those to which you had a claim, he also used only one source from his articles, from where he copied his articles, so the jury evaluated his articles with a minimal score. Say that you are blocked by the user:MIKHEIL, but do not say why? You were blocked because you accused the organizers of the competition (and specifically me) of misappropriating the WMF funds, without any evidence at all. And where is your evidence? So Mr. DEU do not make a sacrifice of yourself and stop manipulating this issue for your own aim. Best --Mehman 97 22:18, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
- Dear Mehman, I think I have provided sufficient evidence in the form of the diff and link. And where is your evidence that I have any own aim other than justice in Wikipedia? That's exactly the attempt of the discredit I mentioned above. Deu. 05:21, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately this you discredit me and UG-GE and not I you. --Mehman 97 09:54, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

Report Accepted
editHello Mehman97 I understand this competition presented a few challenges for you and you have worked with AffCom to resolve the discrepancies in the competition. I appreciate you adding to the report what went wrong and how you and other organizers have rectified the issues. I read under the learnings that the timing of this project was not ideal for your participants as they are mainly students. This is a good thing to note for other competitions as well. I have accepted your final report and expense documentation. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 00:49, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you! --Mehman 97 10:39, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
