Moved to Draft

edit

Hello Udehb, thank you for submitting this proposal. Unfortunately, this month is dedicated for Wiki Loves Africa proposals and January is dedicated to Art+Feminism. I am moving your proposal to draft for now. If you're still interested in carrying out this project. You can move it back to proposed in February. At that time, please also remember to adjust your project dates. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 20:43, 9 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello Udehb, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request. I have reviewed your proposal and have the following comments.

  • Given that all volunteers engaged in your project are from Igbo Wikimedians User Group, I kindly ask you to change the grant type and apply from Igbo Wikimedians User Group.
  • Please correct the amount listed in your detailed budget line #3. It should be 200 USD, instead of 100 USD.
  • Would you please specify the location of planned events?
  • Are you planning to have a specific list of Wikidata items or topics to be edited at your events?
  • What specific Wikidata skills are you planning to train? What talks will the experienced editors have at your events?

Thank you again for your efforts to share your knowledge of Wikidata with the Nigerian community! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:06, 11 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, DSaroyan (WMF)! Thanks for your inputs, they are valuable for a better development of this proposal.

  • Yes you right all volunteers engaged in the proposed project are from Igbo Wikimedians User Group, however the proposed project is not intended for the Igbo Wikimedians User Group but rather targeted to colleagues who are programmers, researchers as well as all individuals who work with or are interested in structured data.
  • Thanks for pointing out the error in my detailed budget line #3. It has been corrected.
  • The proposed project will be taking place in FCT Abuja Nigeria
  • Yes, the contents we will be adding will be tailored towards top 100 most influential young Nigerians source from : https://avancemedia.org. We will be looking at their data on Wikidata and adding which ever data is missing.
  • At the end of the event, participants will be expected to:

1. know what Wikidata is, 2. be able to query data from Wikidata using SPARQL Query 3. also be able to add contents on Wikidata

  • The experienced editors will be giving a talk on the Wikimedia movement including the mission, vision and policies as well as helping to ensure the proposed project is a success.

Hope to hear from you soon and I'm open to further questions, --Udehb (talk) 14:35, 12 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Udehb, thanks for responding to my questions and for making the requested changes! I have an additional request regarding the first response.

  • If the individuals organizing and running the project are from Igbo Wikimedians User Group, the grant type should be group / organizational, even if the project is not intended for the user group members. So please change the grant type, submitting it on behalf of Igbo Wikimedians User Group. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:33, 13 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
