Grants talk:Project/Rapid/WMDRC/Mois de la contribution francophone RDC 2020
Comments from WMF
editHello BamLifa, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request. I have reviewed it and have the following comments and questions.
- The number of the project goals seems to be quite a few. Will you be able to accomplish all those goals throughout two events?
- How are you planning to create a new Wikimedia language project within such a limited period of time?
- Please remove per diem expenses from the budget. If per diems are not for food, accommodation, or travel of participants, they are not eligible expenses per the Rapid Grant guidelines.
- Please include the total requested amount in your local budget in the probox.
- You have listed prizes for the contest in the form of cash. We no longer allow cash prizes. Would it be possible to change those into vouchers, gift cards or gift certificates or other kinds of material prizes?
- We are no longer supporting the acquisition of many T-shirts; we are typically only accepting 5-10 per event. The idea is that T-shirts should only be given to people leading the event or having exceptional contribution. Please reduce the number of T-shirts to 10 maximum and readjust your budget.
Thank you for your contributions to the Wikimedia Movement! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:01, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello DSaroyan (WMF),
- I understand that the project goals are quite big, but due to our experience in training people in Wikimedia related projects, we are quite sure to complete them.
- Due to the fact that creating a new WP can take longer (4 months or more), we have decided with organizers to plan for it in the next project.
- For prizes we will offer them some Internet bundle.
- As you can see we are running two events, and organizers will have 5 and the contest 10. So, in total we have 15 that is not too bad for 2 events plus contest prizes.
- Hi BamLifa, thanks for responding and making the requested changes! I have a few additional requests:
- Since you are applying on behalf of Wikimedia UG DRC, would you please change the grant type to "group" and add the User Group name to the probox?
- You have renamed per diems to "Transport for organization". Would you please explain what it the difference between "Transport for organization" and "Transport"?
- If you are offering Internet bundles, please rename "Money" to "Internet bundles" under the Prizes for the tech contest.
- Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:14, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hi again DSaroyan (WMF),
- The second transport is for the organization team.--BamLifa (talk) 11:06, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks BamLifa, could you also correct the total budget — the budget subtotals add up to 1,982.5 USD and not 1980.5 USD?
- Hi BamLifa, thanks for responding and making the requested changes! I have a few additional requests:
