Hello James Moore200, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund application. I have some

  • Please share the Risk Assessment tool document, so that it is accessible to everyone through the link.
  • You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages where you have informed the relevant communities about your proposed work in advance. Please add these links under question #2.
  • Please describe your experience in running similar projects in question #4.
  • How will you track participants’ contributions? Will you create a separate project page on any Wikimedia project?
  • Do you think two weeks are enough to run 3 events and to partner with at least 3 partners? We would recommend extending the project duration.
  • What will be the event location?

Budget:

  • For the Graphics Design expenses, please confirm that you will be producing materials that can be useful for other WikiLovesSDGs-related projects. We will only fund this expense if you confirm that the produced materials will be usable for other similar projects and that you will share the produced materials to Wikimedia Commons.
  • Social Media Campaign Promotion - please reduce this cost to 150 USD maximum.
  • Please choose between offering gift vouchers and T-shirts to top editors and remove one of the corresponding expenses from your budget.
  • You have already requested and made T-shirts and hoodies for Wiki Loves SDGs Nigeria project. Please remove the T-shirt expenses for facilitators from your budget.
  • Could you please explain what’s the need of requesting 100 USD for transportation for two facilitators?
  • Please reduce the Contingency expenses to 50 USD.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:45, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dear DSaroyan (WMF),

Thank you for taking your time to review this application.

  • I gave access the day you requested for it. It is now open to anyone now.
  • I have added the link as requested.
  • Participants contributions will be tracked through the Outreachy Dashboard. WikiAct4SDGs is project also in line with the aim of the Wiki Loves Sustainable Development Goals Nigeria. The project is to celebrate this year's #GlobalGoalsWeek through editing and updating of SDGs related articles in Wikipedia. A new meta page will be created which will be added to the list of activities carried out by Nigerian Wikimedians for Sustainable Development Community Page.
  • Based on the established partnership, it is possible. Respective organisations have been reached and publicity will take place as soon as possible. We have access to data of over 120 past Participants during the SDGs Nigeria Project. Besides, I belong more than 5 listed and unlisted orgnisations we will be in partnership with in the course of this project.
  • The Physical location is Ibadan, Oyo State. While other participants will join virtually. To solve the challenge we had during the Wiki Loves SDGs Nigeria Project.
  • WikiAct4SDGs is aimed at actualizing SDGs. Bridging the content gap on Wikipedia and its sister's projects.
  • Social Media Campaign is aimed at expanding the reach out wider audience of advocates of SDGs in Nigeria. The budget is best and can't be reduced if this project's expectations must be accomplished.
  • Wiki Loves SDGs Nigeria is an emerging community in Nigeria. Using promotional materials will aid the visibility of the Community. WikiAct4SDGs is another project under Sustainable Development in Nigeria. As for this project, no Hoodies is included but T-shirts for volunteers and new users who'll be in different locations (Up to 36 States within Nigeria).
  • Based on my experience organising similar event, the cost is to aid the transportation of facilitators and other volunteers will be boarded for this project. The transportation allocation will aid their movement within the State.
  • Contingencies will cover the delivery of gifts to Winners (Logistics) amidst other unexpected expenses that may arise in the course of the project.

Thank you in anticipation of your positive response.

I look forward to your feedback as well.

Best regards,

Hello James Moore200, thanks for your response. I have a few additional comments:
  • I understand the need for keeping the social media campaign budget the same. Could you please provide a more detailed breakdown for this expense?
  • Please confirm this: For the Graphics Design expenses, please confirm that you will be producing materials that can be useful for other WikiLovesSDGs-related projects. We will only fund this expense if you confirm that the produced materials will be usable for other similar projects and that you will share the produced materials to Wikimedia Commons.
  • I still request to either reduce the prize budget or to remove T-shirts for top editors from the budget. Please update your budget accordingly.
  • For the Contingencies, please rename it to "Delivery of prizes" if it will be spent on delivery. Currently, it is not clear from the detailed budget.
Thanks again. Looking forward to your response. --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:17, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
