Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Wikimedistas de Colombia/Wikivacaciones 2016
Hi Racso. We are happy to fund the next edition of Wikivacaciones. We enjoyed reading last year's report and seeing how you've developed the contest based off your previous experience. You still have 125,560 COP remaining from last year's grant which will we deduct from this grant payment. Regarding merchandise, please see this page for what we offer through this Rapid Grants program. For this project we can do "Collection 2: Plath" and 10 t-shirts. Unfortunately, we have a limited budget for swag so cannot meet all of your needs. Please follow the instructions on the page for approval and shipping. Cheers, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 20:30, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Dear Alex:
- Thanks to you and the Committee. We hope to raise the bar with this year's contest!
- About the remaining amount from last year: I'd like to ask the committee for reconsideration about this. In our report, we asked the committee to allow us to absorb the remaining funds for using them for supporting some [minor] activities. Well, we've already used some of those funds for some activities, and have a small activity planned which will use the rest of them. I know that we shouldn't have used them without express authorization from the committee; we did it because we didn't receive answer from the committee during the year (probably because of extra work from the grant system change?), so we planned to use them and justify the expenses afterwards (i.e. now). Therefore, I'd like to ask for authorization from the committee to absorb the funds. If that's not possible, then we agree with them being discounted from this new grant (luckily, it's a small amount).
- About the swag: cool, thanks. We'll do it as soon as possible.

- Hi Racso. I understand the situation and challenge not hearing back about your report in a timely manner. You are correct that the grants restructure has taken a lot of staff time and means we are way behind on reviewing reports : ( In the future we definitely would like to approve reallocation of funds before they are spent and we're happy to understand you know this is the process. Please do send us documentation of how those funds were spent. You can update the report page and send us any associated receipts via email. In terms of this grant we will fund it in full. Hi everybody! We haven't received any communication from the WMF related to this grant processing. On December 23 I sent a heads-up e-mail, but haven't been contacted yet. Regards, Racso ¿¿¿??? 21:21, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
