Maarten, hello. I'am interested to come to Amsterdam for the hackathon of november. I also noticed it's "on invitation only". Could you get me one ? It's not confirmed yet, but I could have my own funding from the WMF, which also explain my interest. (please answer back on meta) Yug (overleg) 30 okt 2014 20:20 (CET)

Hi Yug, this is a bit unexpected :-)
I guess you read the page on MediaWiki? I read your proposal and I wonder how that fits in with the theme. Can you elaborate? Multichill (overleg) 30 okt 2014 20:43 (CET)
Hi, I did read the hackathon page. The hackathon seems centered around GLAM (I'am not of this) and wikidata (I work "around" that). I'am not developing code for wikidata itself, indeed. I'am on my side a developer who use Wikidata API in my IEG founded app: Wikimaps Atlas will get it's labels translated from wikidata. More wikiatlas-wikidata can be done as our topojson | svg will keep relevant id to do data driven election maps and co. Yug (talk) 20:32, 1 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Yug,
I'm sorry to inform you that you're not invited to the hackathon. You're doing awesome work for the Wikimedia movement, but I don't think this work fits in well with the scope of the hackathon. This in combination with the short notice, the setting up of this page and another page before contacting us made us decide to decline this request.
I hope to see you next year in France for the big European hackathon. Multichill (talk) 13:58, 9 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks for the clarification : not initially invited, short notice, not scope, it's what I wanted to know. I close this request ! For Yurik page, he asked me via IRC to kick start his application, I did it. Be bold is our motto, build first then fix. I got the link, contacted you, and applied to the TPS which needs ~1 weeks be processed the same day. The TPS provides a place and time so you/your team could confirm or block my request if necessary, as you did. TPS pages are good, you got a clear proposal to check and discard, it's the way to do.
