Explain your plan

edit

Tell us about how you contribute currently, and how you would contribute if WMF were to gift a used laptop to you.

I am an active contributor to several Wikimedia projects such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, WikiCommons, Wikisource,Metawiki and now Wikitionary, which I recently discovered. I am also a trainer for the Wikimedia User Group Uganda. I would be able to contribute more to all Wikimedia projects if the Wikimedia Foundation gifted me a laptop. I am already actively contributing to Wikimedia projects and am eager to broaden my involvement. With a laptop donated by WMF, I would have the tools and resources I need to improve my contributions and have a stronger impact on the Wikimedia community, including those I train.

  • Am Alvin Ategyeka, an active member of Wikimedia Community Usergroup Uganda and i strongly recomend Michael to be a recipient of the hardware donation program. Micheal is an active editor and contributor to wikimedia projects in Uganda and very passionate wikimedian. The only thing that has been slowing his contributions is lack of a good machine(laptop) to execute his work. If he is considered for this good innitiative, it will help him and the Wikimedia community here alot. Alvin Ategyeka (talk) 21:44, 16 May 2023 (GMT)
  • I BalukuBrian (talk) 02:19, 17 May 2023 (UTC) endorse Micheal Kaluba to be a recipient of the hardware donation program because he is does whatever it takes to increase free and open information access through both contributing to the Wikimedia Foundation projects and also training other people how to edit those project.[reply]
  • I Sandra Aceng strongly endorse and recommend that Michael Kaluba is given the hardware donation. He is a great support to the organising of editathons, mentorship and an active contributor on Wikipedia related projects in Uganda and across the world.
  • Michael Kaluba is an outstanding contributor to various Wikimedia projects and campaigns. He shares the vision of making information free and accessible to everyone and anyone and he is doing this through actively contributing to the various Wikimedia projects and it's because of this that I highly recommend him to be one of the recipients of the hardware donation program DivineGaby (talk) 06:41, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • One of the resourceful volunteers in the Usergroup, and also very active in other spaces in the movement, a hardware device to intensify volunteer efforts would be a plus. Douglaseru (talk) 17:37, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
