Heritage Lens
DCW Photography Campaign
The Heritage Lens is DCW initiative, developed on the basis of our Bhopal Photo Event which was conducted in October 2022. The inititive aims at the representation of Muslim heritage within the Wikimedia projects. The first iteration of the program was conducted in July 2023.
The first iteration of the program included a series of training sessions named as "Empowering Creatives", discussing topics such as Basics of Wikimedia Commons, Copyright Attribution Significance and the Freedom of Panorama. The second and subsequent iterations are supported with a fellowship. It is mandatory for a Heritage Lens to submit their learning report once the iteration has been completed.
We offer a few limited fellowships every year for the execution of this program. These fellowships include virtual learning sessions about various aspects related to Wikimedia Commons, Licensing and Copyright.
