IWeLanguage
#IWe{{Language}} is a fall-to-spring Wikimedia language editor recognition and appraisal project. Positive Mainspace diff-contribution is counted by using Wikiscan.org
Originally started in Tatar Wikipedia, in 2024-2025 run it was extended to cover Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikinews, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikivoyage, as well as Commons, as well as adding new languages.
Timing
edit- Start: November 1st (together with Wikipedia Asian Month - Asia is a cradle of Tatar ethnicity)
- Finish: April 30th (it's Tuqay month for Tatars, meanwhile CEE Spring and Alumni and Professors of Russia are in full swing, majority of Tatars live in these areas)
- Encompasses also: «My Tatarstan», «Feminism and Folklore» and «Tatar 4.0» dedicated contests
Recognition and awarding
edit- Everybody adding 1K text into the article space within any month of the run is counted as participant. Respective Username is included into the table and get the right to wear a contest tag on the User Page.
- Everybody adding 30K text into the article space throughout the period (sum of Diff art in dedicated wikiscan) qualifies as a finalist.
- Wikidata and Commons contribution is assessed for Usernames qualifying (1) in any of the Text-based projects in respective language. For 2024-2025 season +1kb Mainspace text is set to equal 1 uploaded File or 10 Wikidata/Structural Date on Commons edits.
- Top 3 from every year are inscribed into the Hall of Fame and marked by , and .
- Partnering sponsors can recognize and award as many leading users with material prizes (to be described in each year's local language landing page)

editThe project is originally initiated in 2022 by Wikimedia Russia and Wikimedia Community of Tatar language User Group in partnership with Milliard.tatar project of the Tatarstan regional state media holding Tatmedia.
