Wiki Loves Pride is a global campaign to expand and improve LGBT-related content across several Wikimedia projects. The activities of Wiki Loves Pride are focused on June and October, traditionally the months when lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities around the world celebrate LGBT culture and history. We invite you to participate in a series of edit-a-thons, to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of LGBT-related content. This will be held during the first fortnight of July 2014 leading up to offline events on Saturday, July 19, 2014. We are late this year and hope to make this happen in June next year :) The event aims at creating new articles, expanding the existing stubs and translating English articles to various Indic languages. Everyone is welcome to join the event as enthusiasts, editors, translators, bloggers or event managers. LGBT community members from Indian are particularly encouraged to participate.

Regrets

  1. I'll be at the the NYC Wiki Loves Pride event but just want to express my support. It might be fun to do a Skype call during your edit-a-thon with Wiki LGBT Wikipedians around the world - let us know if you are interested. OR drohowa (talk) 15:18, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Like Dorothy, I am unable to attend, but I want to express my support and will try to help by making a few edits online. I am particularly interested in the "LGBT culture in [X city]" articles. Thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Pride! --Another Believer (talk) 15:34, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It would also be a good idea to include Wikivoyage under this edit-a-thon, where participants write sections about "LGBT culture in [X city]" in the Wikivoyage entry for the city X. --Netha Hussain (talk) 10:25, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There is a project at Wikivoyage called LGBT Expedition. This would be your best bet for collaborating or recruiting participation. I posted a comment about WLP on the talk page, which received no response, but you are welcome to try as well! --Another Believer (talk) 16:15, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
