Deliberations

  • Update on the upcoming Edit-a-thons and Training Programme that the Karavali Wikimedians User Group is organizing at Canara College, Mangaluru by @Kavitha
  • Yet to finalized the date for the event,
  • Also selected the guests and resource persons for the event, and are looking forward to their participation and contributions.
  • The location for the Photothons that were planned to be held at Mudipu Dhayana Mandira has been changed. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to obtain permission to hold the event at that location. Therefore, we are currently in the process of finding an alternative location for the Photothons. We will update you once we have finalized the details, which may include the possibility of holding the event at Pilikula Nisarga Dhama.
  • The Second Wikimedia Technology Summit learning by @BHARATHESHA
  • Summit provided valuable insights on the importance of collaboration between the technology and language departments.
  • Collaboration between the technology and language departments to ensure that the latest technological advancements are used to support the growth of linguistic diversity on Wikimedia projects. This collaboration can help to ensure that the tools and platforms developed by the technology department are optimized for multilingual use, and that the language department can benefit from these advancements to improve content creation and translation.
  • Summit highlighted the importance of addressing challenges related to language barriers, including access to resources and the availability of local language support. By working together, the technology and language departments can develop innovative solutions to these challenges and make Wikimedia projects more accessible to people across the world.
  • Completion of the pre-survey phase of the project
  • Finalization of the starting date of the documentary
  • Selection of filming locations across Mangaluru and surrounding areas
